We’re Hiring An Account Executive (Hybrid Position)
Starry Eyes Media’s growing team is seeking the right person to fill our Account Executive role. This position is an opportunity to expand your skills in business development, sales, and customer service while helping a variety of entrepreneurs and business professionals realize their dreams and goals for their organizations. Our clientele spans many industries, including food service, manufacturing, lodging, and nonprofits.
Though some meetings and functions of this role will require a presence in our Princeton, WV studio location, you will have the option of utilizing a hybrid work environment that balances working from home and in our studio (COVID vaccinations are required).

Starry Eyes is a creative agency fusing the stellar powers of design and strategy to connect smart brands with target audiences, located in Princeton, WV. We specialize in producing bold and daring digital and printed marketing tools that convert audiences into customers, including websites, printed publications, and comprehensive branding/logo services.

1. Relationship Building & Communication Skills
You will be proficient in typing with proper grammatical skills. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with clients. This requires you to be proactive in contacting clients on a regular basis, as set by the Creative and Technical Directors, to check in to see if any new projects are needed. You will demonstrate the technical knowledge necessary to communicate our solutions effectively. You will be responsible for building new relationships with potential clients. Communication responsibilities include, but are not limited to, client project briefs, sales meetings, contacting clients for information about projects, follow-ups, check-ins, and more. Being prompt in communications with our clientele is an absolute must. Failing to meet this requirement will result in a reevaluation of your position in the company.
2. Sales & Business Development
You will be responsible for building new revenue streams in the business by generating and qualifying sales leads. You will generate and present proposals to leads, crafting compelling pitches that identify client needs and how we will meet them. You will manage project contracts and expectations. You will discuss marketing and advertising strategies with leads/clients. You will search for RFPs and RFQs relevant to our industry.
3. Self-Starter Attitude
Attention to detail is imperative in this position. We’ll provide you with the tools and resources you’ll need to accomplish your goals, but it’s up to you to use those tools and resources. An ideal candidate will have the drive to get the job done with little to no guidance.
4. Technical Capabilities
You need to be proficient in operating a PC and a quick study when it comes to learning new software and programs. You will be proficient in the use of social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. You will be proficient in smartphone use, specifically using the phone software provided.
5. Solid Experience & Education
Having at least two years of direct experience in the role of Account Executive or Business Development is a necessity, with preference given to those specifically versed in selling advertising or digital marketing services. In any case, you should have a solid understanding of marketing, advertising, and digital media.
BONUS: Extra consideration for candidates that have a bachelor’s degree in business or a related field or related work experience of at least three years.

Offering professional web and marketing services is more than making a sale. First, you have to get to know your clients, understanding what excites them about their work and the details about what they love to do. Daily, you’ll be building relationships with current and potential clients, reaching out by email, phone, SMS, Facebook/Instagram Messenger, and Google My Business.
Developing The Business
You’ll be playing a vital role in helping us identify new avenues of revenue, such as special partnerships and unique markets. You’ll also be involved in tracking industry-relevant RFPs/RFQs, coordinating with the Technical Director to create a pitch, and submitting proposals that meet all the requirements.
Consulting & Generating Proposals
You’ll be managing a meeting schedule to consult with possible clients about their current marketing and web strategies and how we can help them. While we have developed a great tool that makes generating modern proposals and service agreements easy, you’ll still need to be skilled in writing compelling pitches that tie our offer in with our client’s needs.
Connecting To The Community
Though we do business in a variety of regions, our communities are vital to us. You’ll be our brand ambassador to the community and help us achieve our community-focused goals within Princeton, Bluefield, and Oak Hill, WV. Connecting to the community includes representing Starry Eyes in community projects, staying up-to-date on community news, welcoming new businesses to town, and more.
Leading Company Communications
You’ll be serving as a primary point of contact for the majority of our company communications. Leading company communications means you’ll be responsible for monitoring incoming communications via phone, SMS, contact form submissions, calendar invitations, social media, and all other channels.
Our team of creatives will be taking their cues from you! Each Friday, you’ll be participating in team meetings with the creative team, project manager, and directors. We use these meetings for team feedback on projects, proposals, or anything else that you may find relevant. As in all cases, your opinion matters! On Mondays, you’ll also lead a sales meeting with the Project Manager and directors.
Being the bridge between the creative team and clients, you’ll be ensuring that any project delays are mitigated, which includes close communications with the project manager and pressing clients for feedback/information so we can finish their projects.
Practicing Safety & Common Sense
As a society, we are all responsible for each other’s wellbeing, and taking the simplest step of getting vaccinated should be the bare minimum in our social responsibility. Though you will be able to work in part remotely, you will need to interact in person with some of our clients, as you’ll be partly working out of our studio in Princeton, WV. We take our team members’ and clients’ safety seriously, so before you can move forward and join our team, you will need to be vaccinated against COVID-19 and provide proof of vaccination. No non-medical exceptions to this rule will be granted or considered.
Compensation & Perks

We are a growing company, and everyone on our team is vital to our continued success. With that in mind, we feel that it’s only fair to increase our team members’ salaries as we achieve growth milestones. Therefore, in addition to both sales commission and bonuses, your base salary will be an annual rate of no less than $33,280 but possibly more, depending on your relevant experience and ability to sell us on yourself.
Each quarter, when we reach our overall sales goal, you will be awarded a $1,000 quarterly bonus. At the end of the year, if we reach at least 115% of our overall annual sales goal, you’ll receive an additional $2,500 bonus. Additionally, based on individual monthly sales goals, we offer accelerated commission percentages on each of our services and products.
Rest & Recharge
In addition to offering you ten paid sick days, ten paid days of leave, and seven paid mental health days each year, as well as paid holidays outside of the normal scope of paid holidays.
